The Crescent crossing - successful

southpole2008

Last week I successfully completed The Crescent Crossing, the first self-sufficient foot expedition across the Saudi Arabian Empty Quarter, with my good friend Adam Wilton . What an experience- very tough and we had to dig deep into our physical and mental reserves. It was also very fulfilling from a geographical and cultural point of view. Saudi Arabia and the Rub' al Khali delivered in terms of an incredible landscape, a big sky and the generosity and warm welcome from the people we met along the journey.

A first is to be on the front page of a prominent newspaper, alongside such esteemed company!

Our footprints in the sand represent the journey we made, step by step into the unknown and seemingly endless horizon, with resilience, determination and an ability to be comfortable being uncomfortable. It was not just about the final destination.

Please do support Frank Water – we aim to launch a series of talks as we approach March and #WorldWaterDay, and happy to discuss any opportunities to present at your workplace or community. Frank Water do incredible, impactful and sustainable work in India, Nepal and Kenya.

I know first-hand the importance of clean water and survival in a mere 22-day expedition, for some of these communities it is a constant struggle.
